14-4-20 doomsday

Doomsday was an invasion initiated by the Cogs, including the Director of Ambush Marketing, to invade Toontown Central on the day of the Toon Council Presidential Elections being held. A level 3 Yesman unexpectedly arrived shortly after Slappy was announced as Toon Council president and proceeded to make him go sad, with Doomsday occurring afterward. Toons battled against the Cogs with the use of Flippy's Whole Cream Pies. With the help of Toons, Flippy managed to end the invasion by defeating the Director of Ambush Marketing with a Wedding Cake.

After Doomsday ended, it seemed as though the Cogs were defeated for good, but Toons had only managed to push them back to the streets and prevented them from entering the playgrounds. Along with the Toon Council Presidential Elections, Doomsday marked the conclusion of Toontown Rewritten's Alpha stage.

Streams[]

The original event was streamed live by Toontown Rewritten from their official YouTube channel on April 19, 2014, as well as many other members of the Toontown community.[1]

In celebration of Toontown Rewritten's fifth anniversary, an updated and remastered version of the Toon Council Presidential Elections (along with Doomsday) was streamed live through Twitch and YouTube, with commentary from the Toontown Rewritten Team, on September 29, 2018.[2]

The Chairman's memo regarding Doomsday.

  • "Doomsday" was the internal name for the Toon Council Presidential Elections during development.
  • By definition, Doomsday refers to an event of great danger.
  • Doomsday marked the Cogs' first canonical appearance outside of being "Trolley-bots" in certain Trolley minigames.
  • In Toontown Rewritten's storyline, Doomsday happened due to Scrooge McDuck visiting Gyro Gearloose's lab and activating a robot that became evil, which is depicted in Toontown Online's old installer video. Toon Headquarters later reported that Scrooge was not seen attending the election and was proclaimed missing.[3]
  • According to Toon Headquarters, some Cogs managed to escape Toontown Central and venture into other playgrounds, but shopkeepers such as Lil Oldman, Professor Flake, Coach Zucchini, and Shep Ahoy stopped them by setting up traps.[3]
  • On April 26, 2014, a memo from The Chairman was unveiled where he congratulated the Cogs for which he declared Doomsday a "successful sales pitch" and stated that Mover & Shakers would be awarded "quality offices".
