  • Has EpicMan ever attacked this wiki? The Wikiator (talk) 20:25, May 20, 2016 (UTC)

    • Not that I am aware of, why?

    • See TTO wiki. Also, did you get my comment about Pokechimp1999? The Wikiator (talk) 20:32, May 20, 2016 (UTC)

I am restoring this thread because of this comment left by EpicMan:

And I will hack your account and get you blocked globally and eternally! Unlike you, Louis is one of the few reasonable people on the Internet! If you take any action against him, I will launch a vandalbot attack against TTO wiki and leave comments mentioning TTR in the edit summaries! I will also attack TTR wiki and leave spam comments on the admins' walls! And there is nothing you can do to stop me!
      ―EpicMan[src]

Also, EpicMan has been blocked globally many times but has proxied his way around the blocks! 20:50, May 20, 2016 (UTC)

  • Hiya. It looks like you've been making lots of edits to the Wiki lately. So much so, it's kinda hard to keep up with. :P Thanks for the hard work.

But you've changed a lot of Cog Pages recently claiming that it's plagiarism to have the same quote at the top as the TTO Wiki counterpart. And I'm not convinced that automatically makes it plagiarism (though I suppose it COULD be under the right circumstances).

photographic evidence, possibly from the lab

When it comes to the phrases Cogs say when you start a fight with them, TTO and TTR are pretty similar. Just because the TTO Wiki has done it before doesn't necessarily mean we can't do it. (eg. Toons of the world, UNITE!) I think we should make the best choices we can independently of the TTO Wiki. Sometimes the 2 Wikis have different goals, but other times they line up.

It's nice to show there's a difference between the two games and all. I kinda like to push TTR's unique elements (eg. the quotes on the Slappy and Yesman Pages), but not every Cog has a unique quote that's better.

I'm not sure how many other people agree with me on this, by the way. A lot of this could just be my personal opinions.

Just so you know, I reverted the edit you made to the (diff=65078&oldid=65026) Glad Hander quote because the old one was just way better at communicating what a Glad Hander actually is. And it sounds like an old-timey cartoon (I guess the 2nd best would be "Let's shake on it.")

I also added back the trivia point for the (diff=64992&oldid=64894) Penny Pincher Page, but I tweaked it to mention the trading cards were from TTO. I think it's kinda relevant to their design (of course, there's other stuff that's way more relevant to the game).

I haven't looked that deeply into the various Cog Pages, so I'm not sure if any actual plagiarism occurred.

On the flip side, I deleted some pictures copied from the TTO Wiki not too long ago. So there definitely IS some TTO stuff not worth having on the Wiki. Especially TTO Toon Building pictures because they're so replaceable.

    • Hey,

Firstly thanks! I recently made TTR wikia one of my main things.

I thought you shouldn't copy TTO word-to-word like the quotes, but not what suits best for the quotes, I am sorry for that miss up.

For that side note  I didn't add any new pictures recently, but what I did noticed was the Cog pictures (on TTR wikia) looked like mirrored versions of the ones at TTO wikia.

TL;DR Version: Thought this wikia counted the quotes as word to word not what suits best for the quotes. Picture wise the cog pictures looked like mirrored versions of the pictured from TTO wikia.

      Anyhow, see ya!

    • Hmm... I suppose copying words from the Wiki is more of a big deal if it's a whole Page like Bo Nanapeel. Pretty sure that was copied. X Jumper has edited it since, but it still kinda looks like it's from TTO, especially since we don't have Field Offices. (That Toon may have been introduced with the TTR Storm Sellbot ToonTasks where you could earn SOS Cards. I don't know.)

A quote at the top of a Page is more of a grey area. Takes thought to make the best decision.

I can see where you're going with the TTR Wiki's Cog pictures looking like the TTO Wiki's Cog pictures, but the ones I looked at were NOT mirrored copies.

These are the Pages I looked at. Sellbots have that asymmetrical symbol on their chest, so it would be pretty obvious if they just flipped it. The Bossbots have that stripe on their tie that's lower to OUR left and higher at OUR right. Even with the symmetrical symbol, it should be easy to tell if it's flipped. The Bloodsucker ones look super close... BUT they're different too. The gap between the Cog's torso and arm on OUR right hits the Cog's thumb on the TTR one, and it hits his sleeve on the TTO one.

Plus Datuntek did an AWESOME job on the main high-quality Cog pictures that go in the Templates, so it's super easy to give him the benifit of the doubt.

The feet make it much easier to see if two pictures are different. Both Wikis take pictures of Cogs walking because that's much easier. And there's only so many animation frames in a walk cycle. I saw one Wiki for another private server where the Cogs were standing and that was pretty interesting. I forget if they had the symbol on the chest or that light.

If you see any specific Cog Pages you think have pictures from the TTO Wiki, then feel free to let me know. We should be happy to look into it.

      See ya around!
