  • So I realized something the other day. You changed the "SpeedChat Plus" pagename to "SpeedChat+" in order to make it closer to the game.

    There's a drawback.

For the "SpeedChat+/whitelist" page, the URL says "SpeedChat%2B/whitelist" at the end.

Wikia must not like the "+" and maybe we should avoid putting that in our pages. I wanted to message you before you put a ton of work into renaming all 27+ pages.

I'd rather the pagename be "SpeedChat Plus" (and then maybe have the page say the in-game usage of it with a "+"), but you've shown more initiative here, so it's probably going to be more up to you.

A brief look at the TTO Wiki's equivalent page showed a picture that actually said "Plus". Looks like TTO was a bit different than TTR and the TTO Wiki had it slightly easier in that regard.

    ...

Are we ever going to be able to use SpeedChat++ to program stuff while playing the game? Hmm, not even sure Toontown Offline would try something like that.

    • Uh, you linked to the same redirect twice. Don't mean to dog-pile, but are you using the Visual Editor? I've been using the Source Editor, so we might just be looking at it differently. The Visual Editor is usually too picky for my tastes. Handy for starting tables though.

    • I swear... I did Toontask with an black s.

All of my life, I've been using the Visual Editor.

Let me try again... I've seen pages with ToonTask s (With no space) instead of Toontasks.

  • Hello! I am Lucky Biscuit. I am a fellow Toontown Rewritten Player. I have a question. I can't go into the phase files or download them so I wanna know if you can help me by sharing some Clothes Files (Both Shirts and Pants, Like Flippy's Outfit, Toon Trooper Outfit, Etc.) through a simple comment on the Message Wall as a PNG. If you can do that then that would be great! Thank you.

    Sincerely, Lucky Biscuit.

  • There has been a toon following me around, yet they are immobile and interaction is not possible. They appear at my estate, inside a cog building, and even in playgrounds as a shadow that nobody else can see. I have screenshots of this toon and I also have their ID. I think they are just an inactive toon account that somehow appears on my screen

  • Hiya, X Jumper.

I was wondering if someone should make a post on this Wiki about trying to save Net Neutrality and how people can have their voices heard. Something a little bit bigger than this Thread here.

You're the most active Admin we have around here and I really really didn't want to burden you with this.

I was considering making a Net Neutrality Blog Post myself, but I'm not sure I have enough time to do it before the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) votes on it on Thursday, December 14, 2017. I've been pretty busy offline lately, and the timing of this is rather devious. It's the same week as a US election for the Senate and its news, and I think it being 2 weeks from Christmas discourages internet blackout protests because people would want to keep their sites up.

If I could find time for making a Blog Post, do you think it would be a good idea? As much as I'd like to avoid controversy, this is important. If the default internet speed is "slow", then I don't think Toontown Rewritten could survive that. (Wikia might be ok for a while though. More than a year?) And if Net Neutrality survives again like it did in 2012 (or 2015?), then I think they're going to try again later.

If we um... end up losing this battle though, I want to at least be able to say I tried to help out. Here's some links:

Heh, if you think saying something is a good idea here, but I'm short on time, I might end up uploading that Extra Credits video to the Wiki. Might not be as effective, but at least it's something.

Doing something fancy like making the Wiki logo blurry with a buffering animation, or maybe butting black bars over the eyes might take a while, but I'm not sure if we'd need permission from TTR to make a statement that big on the TTR Wiki. I dunno.

I spent way more time typing this up than I anticipated. Oops.

What are your thoughts on this?

(This is the 11TH time I posted this. Why won't this thread go through?!)

    • Feel free to make a forum post about it. I'd recommend placing a "highlight" on the post so a notification is sent to all users on the wiki. I'm not really sure how much attention we would bring to this matter since we've been lacking a decent amount of users, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to make a post.

        Loading editor
    • Alright, I might do just that. Thanks. :) I forgot about the forum highlight thing. Thanks for the advice.

  • There is a page titled "My TTR Screen is Black!" created by user BlueRabbit100 that seems more appropriate in the forum. Here is the text from the page:

"I recently built my computer ( GPU: RX550 CPU: Intel Pentium G4600) I downloaded toontown rewritten and it launches and its a black screen, but I can hear the music from ttr in the backround, and I can blindly choose my toon I had on my old computer! Look at the video it shows what I just said."

As you can see, this is more of something that should be in a discussion than a page. I hope that this issue is resolved quickly.

  • Well, I did it. I got it to work pretty well and got a few pictures on the Wiki. :D

Took a bit of time, but those run animations only have 16 frames. I'm not even going to try to do the think animation with its 150 frames. Haha.

I think Toons running really fast are a nice contrast to how slow the Cogs walk.

Oh, by the way, that PNG actually IS animated. I used some website to assemble the APNG for me for now. The animation should be viewable in firefox, the same browser that still supports Unity, the engine the Toontown 2.0 Unity Prototype runs on. If there was ever a Toontown 2.0 Wiki, I think it would be interesting to have the Cogs actually walking on their respective Pages. These are the kinds of things I think about. :P

      Loading editor
    • Wow that's pretty cool! :O

        Loading editor
    • Thanks. :) So I later found out that I kinda messed up on both versions of this animation. I had the APNG assembler set to 1/10, but that's way too slow. It's much closer at 3/64 (or 47 milliseconds/frame) even if it's a BIT faster... I thought the animation was just playing slow because of lag at first.

For the GIF version, I forgot to set a dithering option for the transparency. I didn't even notice it was an option. Looks a lot better when the shadow is partially see-through.

Now I've finally posted an animation to the Wiki that's faster than a frame every half second!... although 2 months was way longer than I wanted to spend on that. Hehe.

I still haven't figured out how to edit out that shade of grey from in-game pictures and preserve the shadow, but at least it works with pure green. :P

  • Hey there! I was wondering how you get such a nice image of the clothing items, like The Pointed Potionist's for example. I've love to be able to just add in a picture looking like that instead of a screenshot of the Cattlelog.

      Loading editor
    • I created that image awhile back when I used to have Photoshop. After gaining a new computer, I no longer have Photoshop, so I unfortunately have to stick to taking a screenshot from within the cattlelog in-game.

        Loading editor
    • Hi again. Because you did an amazing job working on a boatload of pages related to cattlelog items, I thought I'd let you know that I created a brand new {{ToonFestItem}} template for accessories and clothes from ToonFest. It is used the same way as the {{Item}} template. Feel free to edit those pages to replace the template that is currently on them. Also, while you're editing, be sure to remove the "Clothing" category.

        Loading editor
    • Sounds good! Question on item type, for accesories should I put just "Accessory" or would putting "Accessory | Hat/Glasses/Backpack/Shoes" be better?

        Loading editor
    • I realized that the Toontown Wiki does that, so yes. If it's not such a tedious task for you, feel free to do that. There's so many accessory pages. :P

I would personally write it like this:

      [[Accessories|Accessory]] ([[hats|hat]])

      which will come up as

      Accessory (hat)

  • Maybe if I have time, I could update the theme/style of the wiki to match TTR's website, ie more rounded borders, update the templates, etc.

I don't know. I've been wanting to edit something in the wiki.

Thoughts, ideas, comments, concerns, complaints, restraining orders, whatever. Let me know. hashbrownTTR#
